Learn more about recent and upcoming UT events supporting libraries across the country.
This week, EveryLibrary is bringing the campus together for a celebration of libraries, literacy and the power of books. The nonprofit is dedicated to building support and enabling legislative victories for libraries across the country. The University of Tennessee Bateman Team has planned a lineup of exciting events that will inspire, educate and empower the UT community.
The University of Tennessee’s Bateman Team has taken the lead on informing the student body about their client EveryLibrary. The all-female team competes each year in a national competition against other universities running a real public relations campaign on their campus. The team has been working since August researching, planning and organizing these events to bring Everylibary into the UT student body.
Turn the Page: Campus-Wide Book Drive
Have books collecting dust on your shelf? Give them a second life! From Feb. 10-19, the Bateman Team is hosting a campus-wide book drive to gather gently used books for local communities in need. Drop-off points are scattered across campus at Hodges Library, the Student Union and other select buildings.
“This is your chance to make a difference, one book at a time,” said Ryan Getsi, senior public relations student, “Together, we can help ensure that everyone has access to diverse stories and knowledge.”
Swap, Share, Discover: Book Swap Event
Calling all book lovers! On Feb. 24, come to SU 362B from 11a.m. to 2p.m. with a gently used book and swap it for something new to you. It’s the perfect way to refresh your bookshelf, connect with fellow readers and show your love for stories that spark imagination.
Bring your own to trade or choose from the selection provided!
“This event is more than just a book exchange,” said Bella Sucheski, Bateman Team member. “It’s a celebration of community, creativity and the idea that stories are meant to be shared—not silenced.”

End the month with a splash of creativity at “Paint the Rock with EveryLibrary.” Join the Bateman Team on Feb. 25 at The Rock, UT’s iconic canvas, and add your mark to the fight for literacy and free access to information.
